Courses for Healthcare Providers

Enhancing Presence: an immersive experiential training designed for healthcare providers who want to expand their clinical toolkit.

About This Course

"Enhancing Presence: A New Approach to Mental Health Management" is designed for clinicians who see patients struggling with anxiety, insomnia, PTSD, ADHD, burnout, and chronic stress — and who want a practical, body-based tool they can integrate into their existing practice.

Unlike lecture-based CME, this course is experiential. You won't just learn about auricular acupuncture and awareness-based therapy — you'll experience it directly. The training follows the same structure as clinical sessions, so you understand the intervention from the inside out.

Accreditation

This program has received approval from:

  • College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) — Eligible for Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits
  • Medical Psychotherapy Association Canada (MDPAC)

We are currently in the process of renewing accreditation. Updates will be provided as they become available. Participants who complete the program during the renewal period will receive documentation for self-reported CME credit submission.

Who Should Attend

  • Physicians and Family Doctors
  • Nurses and Nurse Practitioners
  • Psychologists and Psychiatrists
  • Social Workers and Therapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Other Allied Healthcare Professionals
  • Healthcare providers experiencing their own overwhelm or burnout

This course is also appropriate for clinicians who want to understand the NADA Protocol and Presence Therapy well enough to refer patients confidently, even if they don't plan to deliver the treatment themselves.

What You'll Learn

Core Competencies

  • Describe the three phases of the therapeutic process (settling, treatment, integration)
  • Identify three objects of awareness (body, breath, brain) and their clinical significance
  • Understand experience-labelling connections and how they maintain mental loops
  • Apply the 3B Framework in clinical settings
  • Assess appropriate candidates for awareness-based and NADA interventions

Experiential Components

  • Receive auricular acupuncture as a participant to understand the patient experience
  • Practise the 3B Framework (Body, Breath, Brain) observation techniques
  • Experience group-based therapeutic presence in a clinical setting
  • Develop personal awareness practices applicable to both clinical work and self-care

Course Structure

The training follows a structured progression:

  1. Foundational Awareness Phase — Orienting to the 3B Framework, understanding the clinical rationale for body-based intervention, and experiencing sensory awareness practices firsthand
  2. Treatment Phase — Receiving and observing NADA Protocol auricular acupuncture (40–45 minutes), with guided observation of the therapeutic process as it unfolds in real time
  3. Integration & Reflection — Processing the experience through a clinical lens, discussing applications to specific patient populations, and planning for practice integration
